Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Senior Enterprise Windows Domain Administrator is responsible for providing support, implementation, and design services for Microsoft Active Directory and Windows-based systems across our organization. This role encompasses directory and identity management solutions and is crucial for the efficient operation of our enterprise-wide IT infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and Implementation: Create enterprise-level designs for Active Directory and Windows File Services to support global initiatives. Collaborate with project and support teams to ensure successful implementation.
- Innovation: Identify opportunities to innovate and enhance service delivery across the organization, optimizing systems and processes wherever possible.
- Problem Management: Take ownership of Root Cause Analysis and Problem Management for the corporate Identity Management environment, ensuring issues are resolved and prevented from recurring.
- Support Escalation: Serve as an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting. Provide guidance and direction for resolving escalated issues and complex production, application, or system problems.
- First-Line Support: Address domain technology issues that cannot be resolved by tier one and two server support, ensuring a stable and reliable IT environment.
- System Monitoring: Perform daily system monitoring to verify the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes. Review system and application logs and verify the completion of scheduled jobs.
- Configuration and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain Active Directory and third-party software utilities for hardware systems, adhering to company operational guidelines.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting steps.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve existing processes by developing solutions to recurring problems and enhancing documentation and infrastructure.
- Training: Provide training as required to lower-level support personnel and peers to promote skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Customer Satisfaction: Manage customer satisfaction through effective communication and expectation management, ensuring a positive user experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, a computer-related discipline, or 7 years of IT work experience in a global information technology infrastructure environment.
- Experience with Identity technologies, including Windows Active Directory and Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory), ADFS, AD Sync, SAML, and OIDC.
- Extensive experience with infrastructure and server technologies, networking, physical server architecture, and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Skills and Abilities:
- Expert-level skills in administering group policies in AD or Windows policy settings in Intune.
- Thorough understanding and hands-on experience with Windows PKI systems, including certificate deployments, templates, and deployment methodologies.
- Expert knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and DFS.
- Strong PowerShell authoring and automation skills.
- Minimum 7 years of overall IT experience, with 3-5 years of experience working with Microsoft Identity technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify and instill industry best practices.
- Ability to translate technical issues into understandable business language for end users.
- Desired experience working in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment with a track record of engineering, developing, deploying, and maintaining business-critical systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work in a team environment.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of establishing new standards for quality, performance, or productivity.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- ITIL v3 Certification.
- Microsoft Certifications
