North Wind Federal Services, LLC is an Alaska Native owned Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) specializing in infrastructure support services and facilities maintenance, base operating services, waste management and radiological services, security control and force protection, environmental services, janitorial services and professional, administrative, and management services.


POSITION PURPOSE:

This position plays a pivotal role in driving the success of North Wind Group projects from inception to completion. The position is responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of projects, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional results that exceed client expectations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans for program management, aligning with the company's vision, mission, and values. Lead by example, inspiring teams to embrace innovation and excellence in all aspects of their work. Responsible for year-over-year backlog growth and increase in market share.
  • Project Oversight: Provide direction and guidance to project managers and teams, overseeing project execution and ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Foster a collaborative and results-oriented environment that empowers teams to thrive.
  • Client Engagement: Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner. Anticipate client needs, proactively address concerns, and deliver solutions that add value and drive mutual success.
  • Resource Management: Effectively allocate resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to optimize project performance and maximize efficiency. Identify opportunities for resource optimization and implement strategies to enhance productivity and profitability.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with projects, develop comprehensive risk mitigation plans, and monitor progress to ensure timely resolution. Anticipate obstacles and proactively implement strategies to minimize disruptions and maintain project momentum.
  • Quality Assurance: Champion a culture of quality and excellence, establishing rigorous quality control processes and standards to ensure that deliverables meet or exceed client expectations. Foster a commitment to continuous improvement, driving innovation and best practices across the organization.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate clear and transparent communication among project teams, clients, and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment. Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and key decisions, soliciting feedback and addressing concerns in a timely manner.
  • Team Development: Mentor, coach, and develop team members, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for growth and advancement. Foster a culture of learning and development, encouraging continuous skill-building and professional development.
  • Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular performance evaluations for project managers and teams, recognizing achievements, identifying areas for improvement, and providing constructive feedback. Foster a culture of accountability and excellence, setting high standards for performance and conduct.
  • Industry Leadership: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in program management, and incorporate them into our processes and methodologies. Act as a thought leader and advocate for innovation, driving the evolution of our practices and capabilities.
  • Financial Management: Responsible for developing and managing the subsidiary budget, maintains established indirect rates, achieves resource utilization goals, ensures cash collection, and monitors financial risk and opportunity. Forecasts revenue and manages profit and loss according to goals established within the business line and North Wind Group. Reports on financial metrics, including growth (revenue) and profitability (earnings).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 15 years of progressive experience in program management within the Engineering, Construction, and Professional Services industry, with a proven track record of successfully leading complex projects from concept to completion.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, influence stakeholders, and foster collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, with proficiency in project management software and other relevant tools.

Special Requirements:
Ability to travel, active US Government security clearance or ability to obtain one, pre-employment testing and screening

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional certification in specialized discipline (e.g., Professional Engineer, Professional Geologist, Registered Architect)
Registered Project Management Professional
