On our client's behalf, North Wind Services (NWS) is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of an Industrial Professional. NWS has an established history of contributing to the success of their customer’s mission. The successful candidate will be an employee of NWS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel. Day-to-day direction will be provided by the client to ensure work performance meets all business, technical, legal, safety, regulatory and environmental requirements.

Our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who will prepare designs for mechanical systems associated with DOD and USAF projects. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. The successful candidate will support the USAF Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase. This successful candidate will support design development of Mechanical systems and equipment for the GBSD program project by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. The successful candidate will work with mechanical engineers and other technical disciplines in a team environment.


Essential Duties

- Draft, develop, and review design documents and drawings.
- Perform formal calculations.
- Size equipment and systems.
- Develop and maintain equipment and material specifications.
- Develop procurement documentation.
- Develop design configuration packages for configuration control and change management.
- Design Building Information Modeling and coordination with other disciplines.
- Review vendor submittals and integrate information into the design solution.
- Execute to schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.
- Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

- BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related), from an accredited university, with at least 9 years of relevant experience.
- US citizenship is required.
- Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, drawings, calculations, and specifications for Mechanical systems and equipment on nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building mechanical systems.
- Possess active security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to utilize engineering and office automation tools effectively.
- Experience developing equipment configuration packages for procurement and maintenance.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards, as well as corporate guides and standards.
- Broad knowledge of the application of Mechanical engineering design principles.
- Registered Professional Engineer in USA (Mechanical or related Engineering).

Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

- Related experience in drawing development for design of fluid systems, hydraulics, heat transfer, HVAC, and thermodynamic calculations, and equipment specification.
- Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000.
- Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.
- Experience executing engineering and design with Revit.
- Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Master format specifications, or Specs Intact.
- Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide.

Special Requirements:

- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
