POSITION PURPOSE:

The Subsidiary President is responsible for working with the North Wind Executive and Sr. Management teams to define the company’s vision and provide the strategic leadership necessary to execute the vision through well-established long-range goals, strategies, plans and procedures to capture and execute new and established projects safely and profitably. The Subsidiary President represents a particular business entity/unit (range of $2 million to $100 million in revenue) and manage the vision, profit & loss, and client performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set and execute the company vision and subsidiary business plan. Report on Progress.
  • Serve as programmatic client interface. Prime directive: maintain positive, proactive interaction with all key clients.
  • Ensure company projects performance, client/contractual expectations, including safety and quality.
  • Develop and manage company budget, profit & loss, including revenue, indirect rates, overhead, profit and loss, and staff utilization.
  • Monitor subsidiary company budget utilizing corporate resources in finance and accounting. Generate new revenue for the company. Monitor and seek changes, as necessary, of the approved rate structure of the company.
  • Work project financial aspects. Review project risks and establish contingency plans. Perform periodic reviews of project performance/corrective actions.
  • Responsible for safety and quality leadership. Demonstrate QA/Safety leadership. Meet safety goal of zero injuries and incidents
  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs and evaluates the organization’s fiscal function and performance
  • Actively participates in the development and implementation of the corporation’s plans, policies and procedures, and programs
  • Develops and provides budgets, regular financial reports and fiscal analyses regarding performance of organization to assist the NW Executive Team
  • Implements and enforces policies and procedures of the organization
  • Develops solutions and strategic plans to improve business operations and meet market challenges
  • Educates and guides managers on project budgeting and resulting financial impacts
  • Supports the NW Executive Team in strategic planning and decision making, meets regularly with senior company leadership to make sure that decisions the organization needs are well-thought out and timely. Uses this team to spread ideas and direction throughout the organization until every employee understands their expected role and responsibilities for contribution
  • Evaluates and develops relationships with potential alliances and teaming partners to benefit the company
  • Develops a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting system
  • Provides team leadership that fosters NW’s core values
  • Develops a management team to effectively execute projects
  • Encourages education and training to help improve team members
  • Monitors managers, promotes and enforces accountability for project safety
  • Actively pursues new clients, markets, and regions for company business development
  • Manages proposals, estimates and negotiations with clients
  • Leads company to stay abreast of industry trends, processes and technical improvements
  • Evaluates employee performance
  • Promotes the company at industry meetings and conferences and represents the organization in professional association responsibilities
  • Leads the company with a clearly defined sense of business direction and purpose
  • Fosters a culture of integrity, values and ethics
  • Promotes the company vision Creating, communicating and implementing the organization’s vision, mission, and overall direction. Making sure that the direction is communicated on a level that allows every employee to feel as if they are part of something bigger than themselves and that their role is strategically important to the organization.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Management or related field required.
  • Twenty 20+ years experience managing people and projects in the engineering / construction industry.
  • Possess at least twenty (20) years of relevant experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty (20) years.
  • Relevant experience includes, but not limited to experience as a Senior Manager in the engineering, construction industry, federal government contracting, or related field with significant experience in leadership and management.

Special Requirements:

  • Top Secret (TS) Clearance or ability to attain
  • 25% travel to North Wind Group offices, conferences, and client sites


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced education preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License

  • Must be able to exert up to a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body
  • Required to have a close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal and extensive readying
