North Wind Solutions is a Government contracting small business with operations at military and civilian installations across the United States. The company’s focus is facilities operation and maintenance, waste management and radiological services, security control and force protection, and environmental services.
POSITION PURPOSE:
In support of the North Wind IT Infrastructure organization, this senior level position will be part of a team responsible for supporting the technical infrastructure that includes hardware, software, and cloud service provider components. An in-depth understanding of enterprise environments and supporting infrastructure to ensure enterprise level performance, availability, and security. This role will be a go-to resource providing support, implementation, and design services for other areas of the organization and its customers. Applies new solutions through research and collaboration with team and determines course of action for new technical initiatives. Implements new solutions as required by the business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mapping the relationship between IT platform/Infrastructure components (i.e. Technology End Users, IT System Software & Hardware and info-Communications Transmission Networks)
- Identifying the key technology interactions and dependencies across systems/platforms impacting the organization’s ability to achieve integration, compatibility, and performance targets.
- Maintains security and integrity controls.
- Responsible for incident escalation and coordination of resources to resolve issues in a timely manner to meet Service Level Agreement metrics.
- Support Disaster Recovery/Continuity of Operations (DR/COOP) exercises, testing and live incidents per procedures and policies.
- Evaluating total cost of ownership and return on investment of various IT platform/infrastructure alternatives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
BA/BS degree with 5-8 years of Information Technology experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Extensive experience with infrastructure, and server theories, principles, and concepts; application infrastructure and standards; networking fundamentals; Windows; Physical Server architecture; Virtualization Technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper V) and LAN/WAN/Firewall/VPN network technologies.
- Extensive knowledge with DNS, DHCP, DFS, in a Windows landscape.
- Extensive knowledge with Windows Server Operating Systems.
- Experience with scripting or automation tools.
- Knowledgeable in O365 and its supporting systems (Exchange, Security, Conditional Access Policies).
- Extensive knowledge in patch management.
- Experience in windows deployment solutions (SCCM).
Special Requirements:
- Must pass pre-employment background check.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain at least a DOE “Q” clearance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD TS Security Clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Extensive knowledge with Active Directory, ADFS, Group Policy Management
- Knowledge in PKI or certificate-based authentication
- Knowledge of the AZURE ecosystem
- Knowledge of Zero Trust principles
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be sitting for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 10 lbs.
