POSITION PURPOSE:

North Wind Group is seeking a highly motivated entry level Business Development Analyst to join our team near the Denver Tech Center. As a Business Development Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing market trends, competitor landscapes, customer behaviors and budgets in support of business development reporting, initiatives and pipeline health. Additionally, the role will provide administrative support to senior BD management staff. This position will report to the Chief Business Development Officer within the business development organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide key support to routine and non-routine business development reporting at all levels of the organization.
  • Analyze routine and complex data sets to identify and interpret trends and/or patterns.
  • Conduct market research to support the identification of business opportunities and potential clients.
  • Identify, monitor and maintain data sources and databases (i.e. pipeline, client budgets, market intelligence platforms, etc.) ensuring accurate, comprehensive and timely updates of information.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans and marketing campaigns.
  • Conduct competitor analysis as requested.
  • Provide administrative support to the business development team.
  • Attend conferences, industry days, and other related events as needed.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related degree program OR currently enrolled in secondary education and actively pursuing a four-year degree in business, marketing or related degree program.
  • Zero (0) – two (2) years of experience in a business development or related role.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of data mining and client relationship management software a plus.
  • Familiarity with statistics and analyzing datasets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work both independently and a part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proactive, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Familiarity with government acquisition types, processes, and tools to include solicitation instructions and evaluation factors.

Special Requirements:

  • Must pass pre-employment background check.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug testing.
  • Must have a valid driver license.
  • Must be able and willing to travel up to 10%.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Some experience as a business development analyst in a related industry.
  • Some experience in identifying profitable business opportunities and potential clients.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position is primarily a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be sitting for long periods of time, but will also be required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is often required to use hands or fingers to handle, feel, type and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. May require travel up to 10% of the time for 1-2 site visit.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
This position is generally in an office setting with low to moderate noise. If attendance is required, work environment may include conferences and industry days with large audiences.
